The Heir by Kiera Cass Book Review Creatively Booked

Rating 4

This is the Fourth Book in the Selection series but it takes a little bit of a turn.

Do you ever finish a series and wonder what the characters lives are like after the novel? I always want more once a series is over. Kiera Cass does exactly this!

“Twenty Years Ago, America Singer entered the Selection – and she and Prince Maxon lived happily ever after. Princess Eadlyn has always found her parents’ story romantic, but it’s not what she wants for herself. Unfortunately, Eadlyn can’t escape the path laid out for her … including her very own Selectin.

Eadlyn doesn’t expect to find love among the Selection’s thirty-five eligible guys. But as the competition begins, new possibilities may just capture her heart – and prove the finding her own happily ever after isn’t as impossible as she’s always thought.”

I really enjoyed the first three books in this series. I was a little apprehensive to start this series because the same characters were not going to be the focus.

However, Eadlyn Schreave is awesome. Her characteristics come across so well. She is a girl, raised in a palace with her future set in stone. She has her prejudices and perspectives but changes.

Slowly but her change is happening.

The Plot

If you have already read The Selection Series then you know what it is like to one of thirty-five selected fighting for one man. Now we get to see what the eligible bachelor (in this case bachelorette) does on the day to day.

Seeing how she has to plan the dates and balancing her other duties as future Queen.

Another element about this series is that the books are so easy to read. I read this book in two sittings. The plot moves at a great pace. And it builds.

The only thing about the endings of these books is that stop almost right before a major climax. Like I NEED more!

Of course, I am going to run to the store now and pick up the next book because I want to know how it ends!

What are your thoughts on The Selection Series? Do you like Eadlyn’s story?
